 *HOLIDAYS AT SMITHFIELD*

The Montgomery County Branch of the Association for the Preservation of
Virginia Antiquities (APVA Preservation Virginia) announces HOLIDAYS AT
SMITHFIELD: A CELEBRATION OF HOLIDAYS PAST.  This year's celebration marks
the 25th anniversary of the Holidays at Smithfield event.  Holidays at
Smithfield will take place Thursday, November 30th through Sunday, December
3rd, from 1pm to 5pm, at Historic Smithfield Plantation in Blacksburg,
Virginia.

This year's celebration will include tea, savory, and sweet treats in
Susanna's Tea Room, tours of the 1774 home including information about how
historical Virginians would (or would not) have celebrated the holidays,
traditional 18th and 19th century holiday decorations, traditional music,
children's activities, a special exhibit of dollhouses and miniatures,
shopping in the Smithfield Museum Store (open Thurs. through Sat. 10am to
5pm, Sun. 1pm to 5pm), greenery sales and more!

Tickets will be available for purchase at the door, priced at $15 for
adults, $6 for children age 12 and under, and free for children age 5 and
under.

Proceeds from Holidays at Smithfield support the educational programming of
Historic Smithfield Plantation, located adjacent to Virginia Tech's campus
