Band-A-Rama Scholarship Benefit Spectacular
(Music/Theatre/Dance)
A celebration of all things band at Virginia Tech, the inaugural
Virginia Tech Band-A-Rama Scholarship Benefit Spectacular will
feature the University Jazz Ensemble, University Symphonic Wind
Ensemble, and The Marching Virginians. The event is narrated by Dr.
Tony Distler - "The Voice of the Marching Virginians" for over thirty
years. The concert offers the listener a wide-angle look at the
bands, ranging from the spirited charts offered by the Jazz Ensemble,
through the contemporary compositions of Dr. James Sochinski as
performed by the University Symphonic Wind Ensemble. The Marching
Virginians will conclude the program with a number of high-energy
works from their season supporting Hokie football. Hopefully, every
patron will walk out whistling their favorite tune from the evening!
Proceeds will go toward music scholarships.
