OK, the giveaway here is the instrument names, folks. Fred is not
looking for standard grownup percussion instruments but for
educational Orff instruments (which are still made under the names
"Orff" and "Studio 49," but are also made by other companies.
When Susie directed the choirs at Christ Church, she could have
provided these, so you should check with the music ministers or choir
directors at your own churches to see whether they have a selection
of Orff percussion instruments (and presumably someone who could play
them). You might also contact the Montessori schools, and come to
think of it some of the elementary schools in the district are very
likely to have some. Check with the music teachers, including Sam
Quesenberry (who is choir director at Luther Memorial).
