Hello Band!

Sounding great these past few rehearsals.  For those who may have missed the
last rehearsal or so here is what we have learned:

JB (Sax) wife is in the hospital in MD and we may not see him for some time
to come.  Keep him and his family in your thoughts.
We may have a string bass player join us after the new year. Neat.
Andy (Percussion) has accepted a job in Oregon.  He start the beginning of
Dec.  Good bye Andy! You will be missed!
My rib is nearly healed.  Thanks for all your well wished and positive
thoughts!

Blacksburg Community Band Board Nominations were this past week. We have the
following nominations:

Dixon Smiley - President

We have the following members electing to run for another term:

We will hold elections on Wednesday November 14 at break.  Anyone else
wishing to submit a nomination should contact before by email, phone or
before break on Wednesday to get that person put forth for nomination.  You
can nominate for any office or member at large. Thank you!

We are going to be settiong up the reception a little different this year.
There will be two food lines and everyone is asked to split there offering
on to two plates or containers to accommodate both lines.

There will also be a sign up sheet this year for tasks related to the
concert set up, breakdown and reception set up and clean up.  Please be sure
to sign up and support your band.  We all need to pitch in to make it a
great concert experience.
